Collar Bone Surgery 2

The surgery happened just over a week ago. I spent the first two days after it “resting.” Did anyone know acetaminophen and hydrocodone makes you sleepy? Nothing like a drug induced sense of well being to help you get through the rough spots.

Anyway, after the first couple of days I started weaning myself from the pills. Because after all, life must go on. No more of this 24 hour sleep cycle! On to more productive things, like uninterrupted sitting in a recliner and one handed shaving.

My wife is still preparing all of my meals and serving them to me, mostly in the recliner in the living room. I’m not a medical expert so I’m not really in a position to argue about whether this is the right thing to do. I guess just play it safe, right?

Collar Bone Surgery

The time for the surgery is drawing near. What surgery? Oh, well you see, I have a broken collar bone. Yes, I know that many people have had broken collar bones, but mine is special. It never did grow back together. Next Wednesday I will go under the knife to have a plate inserted to hold the bones in place while the healing process commences and thus end a six year old “pain in the neck.” But how, you may ask, did I break my collar bone in the first place?

Jackson County – West Virginia

When God created man from the dust he named him Adam, which means “red man.” I guess when he was finished, and had man in the Garden of Eden, he needed somewhere to put all the left over clay he had been using, so he piled it all up in North America, four hundred fifty miles east of the Mississippi River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain range. Many years later the descendants of Red Man found the place God left the clay and lived there for a long time in solitude, interacting occasionally with other groups of red men.
